Inconfident

Throwback #OOTD
Top: Supre
Skirt: Dotti
Shoes: ?
Not sure where is it from, it was actually my sisters, she gave it to me. Yes I know I could still check where it's from, but one thing... I'm lazy hehehe.

So I went for a little shopping spree today cause I need an outfit for this weekend (You shall not know what it is till I blog about it *evil smile* ). Had difficulties in choosing the right outfit as it is my first time wearing such outfit, also I don't know what outfit is considered proper for that event. At the end of the day I was able to find a suitable outfit and with a proper size that fits me... I hate shopping these days as I've grown a lot, side ways... and I'm not proud of it, it makes me loose my shopping mood as I couldn't fit into so many clothes.
Told myself that I must do something about it, exercise, diet, fast, but it never happens.. I just love food too much. Going up by 2 sizes is not something to be proud of, but I do hope that I would be able to find a gym partner maybe to motivate myself and also. Going to gym is also another problem for me as I have back problem and knee problem, so it's harder for me to exercise  now.  :(

I told myself today that I need to go out and explore Melbourne cause, so far, I've never explored much of Melbourne and especially around my neighborhood. Well, I drove around a little today, went to Malvern at Glen huntley road, to Richmond at church street, to Carnigie, to Chapel street, yeah I sorta went to places I have been before but only walked a little, but now I had the whole day, I walked till the end of the shops and I said to myself "gosh, didn't know that there were shops here" or "omg didn't know there was ---- shop here!! yay! "
and yes, basically I roamed around to find shops to look for a suitable outfit. Guilty. tee-hee!

As I've mentioned earlier that I wasn't sure of what event I'm going to, after purchasing my dress, I went home, made my breakfast-lunch-dinner and indulged it like its gold, yeap I did not have any food before I left home other than 2 glasses of water. After my dinner, I went up to my room and googled the event, and I went "F**", I bought the wrong dress, the dress code is not what I have thought it was. Had a minor heartache, wanting to return the outfit and maybe get another one, but recalling back, there weren't any suitable outfit in that shop either. So,, I have no choice but to keep the dress.

It's a good thing that I have tomorrow free too, accompanying my sister out to her work, after that , look for clothes. Hopefully we would find our outfit by tomorrow, as I'm a lazy sort of person, I don't want to go out again the day after to look for clothes again. Another reason to quickly get over with shopping is, SIZE. As I said over and over again, being unable to wear anything and find my size really is agonizing.

It suddenly came to me that in this whole post I've kept repeating my story (I think).  But whatevs, it's 10.30pm now and I think I only had 4 hours of sleep yesterday, which is insufficient for me... Very insufficient. So good night and hope you enjoyed my *story*.   -J

No one else can feel it for you

Okay I'm gonna introduce a song which you may or may not know  about it, or simply heard of this song but just don't know what's the name of this song. This song had been stuck in my head for almost 2 weeks, and for me that means the music is good. My music of the day:  Prayer in C.
*click to listen :)

Human: Malaysia (hehe a very lame sense of humor I know)
Enclosed wedges: Novo
Maxi dress: Forever 21
Accessories: Lovisa

I've never worn maxi dress before, this would be my first time as I thought that I never suit wearing long casual dresses. This might be the first maxi dress that I like, who knows, I might get more maxi dresses. Easy dress up, just add an accessory and voila! You are ready to go out. I might not be a fashion professional, but I know what is acceptable when going out. I admit that most of the times I'm just plain lazy and I would just wear my house clothes out to places like grocery shopping, lunch or dinner or even to friends house. I only dress up and take the initiative to be presentable when there is a purpose for it, Orrrrrrrr when I'm in the mood for it. I can't do it everyday, I really do solute those who dress nicely when they go for class, for everything!
I wish that I have the initiative to dress nicely every time I go out, regardless of where I'm going, but I just can't, the laziness in me has concurred me lol.

Anyway, recently, back in Malaysia, there was an event held by a Muslim name, Syed Azmi Alhabshi, the event was called "I want to touch a dog". I could sense that he has the compassion for dogs and other animals as he tries open others eyes and giving them the encouragement to love another living creature:dogs. I admire this guy very much as he has organized this event to help Muslims and others who are afraid of dogs to overcome their fears of dogs.

He had the guts to do such event where in Malaysia, Muslims are not allowed to touch dogs. (They said that it was 'haram' (sinful) to touch any dogs).
I don't really understand this regulation, why is one not allowed to touch dogs? Thus categorizing them as 'dirty'. They are same as any other animals, cats, fish, horse, elephant, pig, ostrich etc. According to those superstitious ones and the Islamic Religious Council, Muslims are prohibited to touch any dogs at any times. This event has  provoked their religion and has ashamed their religion and having this event has gone against Islamic teachings.

I do not understand completely, why is is provocative when all those people who touched dogs were just... touching them. It's not like they abuse dogs, or kill dogs, or eat them. Dogs are also animals (to me, they are family), and God, regardless of which God you pray to, was the one who create this living creature that the wise ones called "a mans best friend".
Dogs don't do harm to humans, all they want from you is basically just 3 things: food, attention and love. In return, 3 things they give you: happiness, company and protection. That's it! I don't see anything sinful about giving food, attention and love to dogs, Muslims give food, attention and love to cats, why not dogs?

Cats lick themselves to clean themselves up, but cats also live outdoors and indoors, you don't know what has been in cats mouth, cats sometimes have this 'fur ball' which they have to cough it out (or at least that is what I heard).
Same goes for dogs, though they don't lick themselves to clean themselves up (But I know some dogs actually do!) we don't know what has been in their mouths. Same goes for any other animals! I don't see Muslims in other countries having this rule against dogs, why only in Malaysia?

Last year, there was this news about an old man called "Pak Mie" but real name is Mohammad Azmi, who loved dogs like his own babies, taking those who are in need of home to his, so far he has rescued more than 600 strays Muslim community criticizes and looks down on Pak Mie, but I really solute and love Pak Mie for doing such deeds! He sacrificed his comfort for the strays, his wife too, sacrificed all her jewelry to feed the strays. They know the consequences of sheltering these animals, but they still went for it... and for over 20 years!!!
I love Pak Mie and his wife for that! He was given the name of "A Stray Hero".
Click the link to read a little about Pak Mie's story. OR The Malaysian Insider - Muslim couple are stray dogs best friend

I know that there are other stories about Muslims in Malaysia carrying out rescue mission and sheltering stray dogs and dogs that were left behind. With that, I solute to those who had the courage to do so and also had the heart to do so.

These heroes helped, but was looked down, criticized, and threatened. Pak Mie had to evacuate and leave his land, he was spared.. for now, who knows what might happen to him since anything could happen to those who does not follow the rules of Islamic teachings in M'sia : Pak Mie's animal shelter spared, for now

Whereas Syed Azmi who organized the "I want to touch a dog" event had to apologize as he received many death threats by God knows who : Syed Azmi Apologizes

P/S: Ironically both of these mens were named "Azmi"nice!

No one can be forced to  take part in the "I want to touch dogs" event, those who went (and there were many as I've seen in medias) are those who wants and are eager to touch dogs and also to love them and conquer their fears. They went because they do not want to feel afraid of dogs, they want to feel what others feel about dogs, they want to speak out and open their hearts to dogs. So why not? I really do not understand.

I hope that one day, "they" would come into a realization that dogs are just dogs/ family, they don't take away your freedom, they don't kill you for loving them, they don't gamble your money away just for their temptation, they don't make you sinful, they are not 'dirty'.

Yeap these are my dogs and I'm proud of it, been living for 20 years, and I don't feel like I'm 'dirty'.
(Missing my babies so badly now, wish they were here in Melb with me!)

The adviser to the Johor Islamic Re‎ligious Council said it was haram (prohibited) for Muslims to deliberately touch dogs as they were dirty (najis mughallazah) according to two Muslim schools of thought, Shafie and Hanbali.
"Don't try to create a culture that goes against Islam and the Shafie school of thought, especially when it has elements of insulting the ulama in this country," he was quoted as saying in Malay-language daily Berita Harian.

"This is forbidden for three reasons, which are religion, health and a culture that contradicts with Islam. It must be remembered that Malaysia adheres to the Shafie school of thought," he said. - See more at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/i-want-to-touch-a-dog-event-an-attempt-to-insult-malaysias-clerics-says-for#sthash.brhfkAJE.dpuf

Turn this back to current time

This blog has been utterly dead for far too long. Therefore, a new post shall be written.  :)

Who knew that one would loose his/her commitment in being a productive blogger? lol
I for once has wasted so much time procrastinating during my trimester break instead of doing something and making time more worthwhile... yes... guilty as charges... Oh well, there is still one week of holiday left for me, hence I shall begin again, blogging.... of anything that comes to my mind.

First of, I believe I should produce a short introduction just so that if I have new readers or readers that has forgotten who this may be. Well, my name is Jasmine, 20 years old, Malaysian, Chinese, Subang kid, existed in this world on the 2nd February 1994, speaks english, basic malay, basic mandarin, basic hokkien. Currently living in Melbourne, Australia to further my studies in Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology, and next, Deakin University... and most obvious of all, a female :)

When I arrived in Melbourne in February '14, I was very much looking forward to having my freedom, going out till late, having parties, get drunk... *sneaky evil smile* .... yeah I thought of that a lot as I do not have much of freedom back at home , my friends would know that, and I don't blame my parents completely as everyone knows in Malaysia, it is dangerous to go out especially alone and at night, many and I mean MANY things can happen. So far, I've been out only for a couple of times, the reason behind this might be because I haven't met any wild ones yet ha ha ha, or maybe I'm just an introvert. Well, we shall see what I am when I find more friends, or a good friend  :)   I admit I did not make much friends in MIBT as many cling to their own group (many of them came to Melbourne early to study an English unit due to them not being qualified in the IELTS test, I believe..) and many are kind of stuck up, which I really do not like... I mean come on... who likes those sort of people? Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure that there are nice and friendly people, maybe I just haven't met them yet. I did meet a few nice and friendly people, who are now also my friends, which I thank God that I have friends ha ha ha!

Look at that, back at blogging and I'm already beginning to talk bad about people, am I bad or am I bad? lol

Since I've been in Melb (9 months), I've gained so much weight that when my parents saw me when we met up in Perth for holidays, they went " JASMINE, YOU BETTER LOOSE SOME WEIGHT"   Owwhhhh weeellllll, I can never be those fit people cause I just love food too much and also I've got knee problem and back problem, hence not being able to exercise not run. Many times I wished that I did not injure my knees few years back due to being a lunatic jumping and running around the badminton court and also just before my tournament began! Really a sad moment for me....

Now that I've settled in with my sister and her partner, I was thinking of getting a job, but then I couldn't get one as most of the jobs I seek require experience and certificates, and THAT sucks... Then I wanted to adopt a dog but then I thought to myself, I may be staying here for 2 more years, what am I going to do with the dog when I return back home? So adopting a dog is a no for me.

I've been writing alot of 'me' and I think I should stop now before I start boring anyone. I promise to try and update my blog more often to entertain my readers (if there are any) and also maybe improve my vocab. Till then. -J
